According to Chairman of the Son La provincial People’s Committee Cam Ngoc Minh, the festival contributes to promoting tea production and introducing them to domestic as well as international tourists.
This year’s festival features 32 booths by companies and cooperatives specialising in tea production and distribution from Son La, Phu Tho, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, and Lai Chau provinces.
The festival will comprise a series of activities, including a photo exhibition, a tourism exhibition, a tea-leaf picking and tea-making contest as also sightseeing in the tea plantations.
Moc Chau is endowed with a cool climate and soil suitable for growing tea plants. Formed in 1959, the Moc Chau tea material area is now expanded to more than 1,800 hectares and produces over 23,000 tonnes of tea leaves. Moc Chau tea products are exported to many international markets, including Japan, Taiwan (China), and Pakistan. In recent years, the production of tea in Moc Chau has also boosted local tourism.
