The event was part of a series of activities to welcome the reopening of international air routes to Da Nang city after a long-term suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The hot air balloon festival took place at the APEC Sculpture Park located on Bach Dang Street.

At the event, the organizing panel introduced 17 multi-colored hot air balloons of various sizes, including 12 mini balloons (seven to ten meters high), two stem balloons, and three seven-level balloons (22 meters high).

A hot air balloon can carry three to four adults or six to seven children. Each flight lasted four to five minutes.

Especially, visitors had a chance to watch nearly twenty hot air balloons with fairy lights brightening up the sky of Da Nang city at night.

Reportedly, thousands of tourists and local people flocked to the event early in the morning. A lot of tourists experienced flying up in hot air balloons to see the city from above.
