Da Lat to become a music city in the UNESCO network |
In Vietnam, Da Lat is considered a unique city for nature, culture, and architecture. It is home to three UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage elements, namely the cultural space of the gong in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, the woodblocks of the Nguyen dynasty, and the Langbiang biosphere reserve.
According to local authorities, to earn the membership of the network, the city has evaluated its current conditions, potentials, strengths and advantages in different sectors. Eventually, music has been chosen as a field with outstanding potential and a highlight of cultural and artistic creation, forming a strong driving force for the city’s sustainable socio-economic development.
The deadline for the submission of the dossier is April 2023, on the occasion of the city’s 130th founding anniversary (1893-2023).
