Water management in urban areas promoted in context of climate change
PANO – A workshop was jointly held on May 28 in Hanoi by the Embassy of Belgium, Vietnam National University’s Institute of Vietnamese Studies and Development Science (IVIDES), the Belgian Development Agency (Enabel), and Belgian universities.
At the event, themed Water Management in Urban Areas in Vietnam in the Context of Climate Change, delegates discussed approaches and solutions to issues related to water management by analyzing impacts of climate change, elaborating increased risks and vulnerabilities as well as giving recommendations to build capacity, raise public awareness, and invest in infrastructure projects.
In addition, the meeting also introduced Vietnam-Belgium cooperation studies on water management in big cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho city, contributing to mapping out solutions to urban planning and sustainable water management in the context of climate change.
