Red Sunday program attracts blood donors in Ho Chi Minh City

The program drew the participation of a number of cadres, lecturers, personnel, students of the university and officers and soldiers from the Southeastern Ho Chi Minh City Mobile Police Regiment.

Many cadres, lecturers and students actively respond to the Red Sunday program.

Medical staff from Military Hospital 175 collect blood from donors.

According to the organizers, this 17th edition will be launched in many provinces and cities nationwide from now till the end of March. It is expected to collect a total of 45,000 to 50,000 blood units.

According to Colonel Bui Phu Tue, Deputy Head of the Political Affairs Division of the hospital, the program holds a significant meaning, demonstrating the sentiments, humanity and responsibility for the community, helping solve blood shortage and raising people’s awareness of humanitarian blood donation and promoting good traditions of mutual assistance of the Vietnamese people.

First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union Central Committee Bui Quang Huy presents certificates of merit to units and individuals with active contribution to the program.

Military Hospital 175 presents merit certificates to units active in voluntary blood donation.

Some 400 units of blood collected at the event on March 9 are stored at Military Hospital 175 for future treatment and emergency aid for patients.
