The ceremonies in celebration of President Ho Chi Minh’s 127th birthday were also participated by representatives from the municipal leadership and local people from all walks of life.
President Tran Dai Quang and other officials and people visited the ongoing exhibition themed “Ho Chi Minh - the most beautiful name,” which showcases more than 150 images of and documents about Uncle Ho’s life and career, especially during the time he left the country to seek the national salvation path and when he was side by side with local people and troops in the fight for national reunification.
President Tran Dai Quang also toured the Nha Rong Wharf where Uncle Ho left the country to find the national salvation path, met with and encouraged local officials and children. He hoped local children study harder to get good academic records and to deserve to be the city’s citizens and beloved Uncle Ho’s good children.

The same day, the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi opened an exhibition titled “President Ho Chi Minh’s presents - untold stories”.
79 displayed objects tell stories about the hard time of Vietnam in wartime and President Ho Chi Minh’s wholehearted love for the Vietnamese people and troops who bravely fought foreign invaders and surmounted difficulties to obtain achievements at work and school.
The exhibition, to close in late this July, also introduces spectators to other gifts of foreign politicians and people for President Ho Chi Minh, such as the two posters, of which one portraits Uncle Ho, presented by the Italian Communist Party to the Vietnamese mission at the Paris Conference in 1969; a radio gifted by an overseas Vietnamese in Thailand in 1960. Those gifts show deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnamese people’s heroic combat against foreign invaders.
Also on May 18, a workshop on socio-economic development in the safety zone in Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province, hosted by the district’s People’s Committee, highlighted the socio-economic achievements in the locality, pointed out difficulties and shortcomings and mapped out solutions to boost local socio-economic development, especially in tourism.
The workshop was held to mark 70 years since President Ho Chi Minh started to live in the district to lead the national resistance war against the French colonialists.
Earlier in the day, the management board of the Dinh Hoa safety zone ecological and historical relic site received a copper drum from the Thanh Hoa province’s antique and cultural heritage association. The drum was placed in the main hall of the memorial house dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh on top the De Pass in Phu Dinh commune, Dinh Hoa district.
