Construction of a junior school in Huong Van commune, Huong Tra district, Thua Thien Hue province, funded by an overseas Vietnamese family and some businesses, started on August 10.

Earlier, Vo Dinh Huu, a Vietnamese doctor living in the US donated US $25,000 through the Hue studying encouragement fund to help the local to build the school.

The new school, named Lai Thanh, with 5 classrooms is also sponsored by the Universal Abundance-inc company, the Dong A corrugated iron company and a couple in Ho Chi Minh City.

The construction is expected to be completed in October, 2007.

Huong Van, a poor commune of Thua Thien Hue province, is facing with a shortage of classrooms. Once completed, the school will enroll nearly 200 pupils in the new school year.
