Ordinary people with good deeds to be honored
PANO – The awarding ceremony of writing contest on ordinary people with good deeds, the eighth iteration of this kind, will take place in Hanoi on June 8 and be broadcast live on Vietnam Television.
The contest is organized by the People’s Army Newspaper, the Department of Press and Publication under the Central Commission on Communications and Education, the People’s Army Publishing House, and PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation.

Major General Pham Van Huan, Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper, Head of the contest Organizing Board said the board has received hundreds of entries written by professional and amateur authors nationwide. The articles introduce exemplary individuals who silently contributed good deeds which extensively influence the society.
The board has decided and will present prizes for 15 best articles on June 8.
Gen. Huan said that, after eight contests, thousands of typical groups and individuals with good deeds have been introduced, helping multiplying good examples in the society, contributing to well implementing Decree 05 of the Politburo on promoting learning Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morality, and style.
At the awarding ceremony at the Hanoi Friendship Palace, starting at 20:00, June 8, the board will also launch the ninth contest of the kind.
