Thinh praised Kon Tum authorities and people for their efforts in implementing well the policies of gratitude and support for Vietnamese heroic mothers, building gratitude houses, repairing martyrs' cemeteries and presenting gifts to national contributors ‘families on the occasion of Tet holiday.

The Vice-State President emphasized that Kon Tum is one of the provinces with a proud tradition in both anti-French and anti-American resistance wars. The province has a population of more than 500,000 people, and more than 10 percent of them are national contributors. Thinh hoped that the delegates will uphold the traditions of their native land and families and promote information dissemination on the Party's directions, policies and laws to people of all walks of life, so that they can escape poverty and contribute to the national construction.

The Vice-President also asked the province to promote socio-economic development to improve the living standards of people in general and national contributors in particular and mobilize human resources for the search and collection of martyrs' remains.
