These activities were part of "A picture - A lot of hope" project, which has been launched by lecturer Ho Duong Duong at Da Nang University of Science and Technology and held since 2014.

The project calls for students to take part in a painting contest. The winning pictures will be displayed at Da Nang Oncology Hospital.

Patients with joy

The project saw the participation of students from Da Nang University of Science and Technology and other universities in the city. Hundreds of colorful pictures and paintings conveying meaningful messages about optimism and a love for life were presented to cancer patients.

According to doctors at Da Nang Oncology Hospital, since the project started, they have used an effective psychotherapy for cancer patients, helping them relieve anxiety and depression and gain faith and motivation to live. This method has also helped the team of physicians reduce stress and fatigue during treatment.

The project has spread and been conducted in many cities and provinces across the country, such as Hanoi, Ha Tinh, Thua Thien - Hue, and Nha Trang, thereby contributing to supporting cancer patients in their trying times.

The "Singing for my patients" program has been held regularly by volunteers on Sunday afternoon. Patients, their relatives, and volunteers gather together to sing and talk about their lives. Joy, smiles, and the sharing of love have turned strangers into close friends.

Lecturer Ho Duong Duong said that the reception of patients, as well as the active participation of volunteers and benefactors have helped this movement grow stronger.

The project is like a "fresh air" rushing into the hospital space, bringing warmth and love to help patients overcome their sickness.
