Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh speaks at the launch

During this week-long program, close to 1,000 facilities will provide vaccinations for local people. Social distancing will be strictly observed to ensure safety during the inoculations and prevent SARS-CoV-2 infections. Therefore, some 200 people will get vaccinated a day at each facility. The city is hoping to complete its inoculation program before June 27.

The city’s goal is to vaccinate two thirds of its population by the end of this year.

Addressing the event, Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh highly valued the great efforts of frontline forces, local Party committees, authorities, and the National Steering Board for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

He thanked people from all walks of life for their support with local departments and relevant forces in exercising social distancing measures and strictly observing COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

After the launch, 500 staff members and workers at HCM Hi-Tech Park get vaccinated

Binh urged the organizers of the vaccination program to observe the Health Ministry’s 5K regulations and bring into full play the good results of the previous vaccination program as well as ensure absolute safety.

In this vaccination program, HCM City receives 836,000 doses of vaccines, including 50,000 doses for military and public security forces.

After the launch, 500 staff members and workers at HCM Hi-Tech Park were vaccinated.

Since March 8, more than 1 million people in the city got jabs of COVID-19 vaccine, including 30,000 receiving the second shots.
