Exercise on anti-terrorism conducted at Tien Sa port
PANO - The Vietnam Maritime Administration under the Ministry of Transport along with the relevant units of the Ministries of Public Security and National Defense, as well as the Da Nang Municipal People’s Committee jointly held an anti-terrorism exercise at Tien Sa port, in the city of Da Nang on August 30.
The exercise focused on practicing information and report mechanisms, dealing with terrorism-related situations, releasing hostage situations, clearing bombs and mines, persuing terrorist at sea, and in performing fire-fighting as well as search and rescue missions.
It was aimed at evaluating the enforcement of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, its command and coordination capabilities, the smooth communications of information and logistics, the implementation of operational plans and skills, as well as use of specialized equipment in addressing terrorism-related situations at sea to complete anti-terrorism plans in line with real navigation situations.
