Exchange program held to address influences of natural disasters on children
PANO - On May 18, the Fund of Natural Calamity Prevention Assistance in Central Vietnam cooperated with the Vietnam Television to hold an exchange program entitled “Prevention of natural disaster effects on children” at the Youth Cultural House in Ho Chi Minh City.
Present at the event were former State President Truong Tan Sang, Chairman of the Fund of Natural Calamity Prevention Assistance in Central Vietnam; Phan Dien, former Politburo member; and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong, among others.

The program, with unique artistic performances, aims to raise awareness of active prevention of natural disaster influences and reduction of the effects of natural disasters, especially on children.
At the event, the organizing panel raised VND 28 billion from charitable individual and organizations. They also announced the establishment of a study encouragement fund to support disaster-hit students, and launched the “Aid for swimming pools building” program to help prevent the risk of drowning in children.
