Distressed sailor rescued at sea
PANO - At 2:21 a.m. on June 12, ship SAR 412 of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Vietnam MRCC) successfully brought distressed sailor Nguyen Tien Sy back to the mainland safely and transferred him to Da Nang Hospital for treatment.

Prior to that, at around 3:00 p.m. on June 9, fishing boat QNg 98064 TS, captained by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nghi, was operating in the waters of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago, Vietnam. During that time, sailor Nguyen Tien Sy (born in 1992), a resident of Pho Quang commune, Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province, experienced abdominal pain, followed by vomiting and a rapid deterioration of health. Recognizing the critical condition, captain Nguyen Dinh Nghi contacted Vietnam MRCC requesting urgent rescue assistance. Upon receiving the information from fishing boat QNg 98064 TS, at 3:00 p.m. on June 11, Vietnam MRCC immediately dispatched rescue ship SAR 412 to carry out the mission of rescuing the distressed sailor.

At 8:33 p.m. on the same day, the rescue team approached fishing boat QNg 98064 TS. The team of doctors and rescue personnel promptly boarded the fishing boat to provide on-site medical treatment to the patient. After the initial treatment and stabilizing the patient's condition, Nguyen Tien Sy was transferred to the SAR 412 to receive specialized medical care and was promptly transported back to the mainland for further treatment.
