Da Nang’s youth launch tree-planting festival
PANO - The Da Nang municipal Youth Union Chapter, Youth Federation, Students’ Association, and GreenViet Biodiversity Conservation Center kicked off a tree-planting festival, themed “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho,” on February 19.

The event was part of the activities to welcome youth union congresses at all levels, towards the 12th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the 2022-2027 tenure.
After the launching ceremony, participants planted 120 lagerstroemia speciosa trees in Khuong My hamlet, Hoa Phong commune, Hoa Vang district.
They will also plant 500 hopea odorata trees on rural roads in Dieu Phong hamlet, Hoa Nhon commune, Hoa Vang district.
According to Deputy Secretary of Da Nang’s Youth Union Chapter and President of the municipal Students’ Association Le Cong Hung, the festival aimed to encourage and mobilize youths in the city to act for the community and contribute to building Da Nang into a city of environment in particular and a green Vietnam in general.
As planned, in 2022, the city’s Youth Union Chapter will present 30,000 acacia auriculiformis trees to support ethnic minority youths’ economic development and 25,500 shading trees to its affiliated units to complete tree-planting program.
