Charity concert raises VND15 billion for the poor

A 3-hour-concert was held on January 13 at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi, with the participation of Miss Worlds 2007 and 2008 and other overseas Vietnamese singers, drawing nearly VND15 billion for charity.
The concert is co-organised by the Fund for the Support and Encouragement of the Overseas Vietnamese Community, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and US RASS Company.
At the event, audiences had a cultural exchange with Miss World 2007, Zhang Zi Lin, and Miss World 2008, Ksenia Sukhinova. Miss World 2008 expressed her joy at visiting Vietnam for the first time, remarking that the beauty of the country is even more amazing than she had imagined. She also conveyed her best wishes for a happy new year to audiences in Vietnamese.
Meanwhile, Miss World 2007 who has visited Vietnam four times said that Vietnam is like her second home.
The charity concert also featured well-known overseas Vietnamese singers such as Thanh Ha, Phi Nhung, Ai Van, Linda Trang Dai, Tommy Ngo as well as famous local artists, including My Linh, Quang Linh, Dam Vinh Hung and Quang Dung.
The event drew nearly VND15 billion from great businesses such as RAAS, Vincom and Eurowindow and other overseas Vietnamese.
All the money, raised from ticket sales and donations, was sent to the Fund for the Support and Encouragement of the Overseas Vietnamese Community.
After the charity concert, the delegation will continue its journey to the central provinces of Vietnam.
