A special concert entitled “Moments of love” will be held in HCM City on June 26 to raise funds for children with harelips and cleft palates.

The programme has attracted more than 100 lecturers and artists from the HCM City Conservatory of Music who will perform classic pieces from world famous composers such as Schubert, Bach, Chopin, and Liszt.

Many Vietnamese famous artists will also take part in the programme including Anh Tuyet, Ly Giai Hoa, Hoang Anh Tu and Nguyen Hong Thuy.

The event was organised by Operation Smile Vietnam (OSV) - a non-governmental organisation that specialises in providing free surgery for children and young people with harelips and cleft palates.

OSV has conducted free surgery on more than 13,000 children and young people with cleft palates since 1989. Each operation lasts between 45-60 minutes and costs roughly US$150. This year, around 3,500-4,000 Vietnamese children with harelips and cleft palates will receive free surgery.
