Activities raise youths’ responsibility for community
PANO – More than 60 volunteers and artists participated in various social activities during a cycling event, “Binh Phuoc - Smiles in border areas”, held by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Culture House.

Accordingly, from July 9 to 16, the participants, who cycled 400km from Ho Chi Minh City to localities in Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces, mobilized health workers from the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society to provide free eye surgeries to 150 people, worked with localities’ healthcare stations to give free health check-ups and medicines to more than 1,000 needy residents, and presented two gratitude houses to wounded soldiers, dozens of gifts to policy beneficiaries, and notebooks and scholarships to students with excellent academic records, children of policy beneficiaries and of border troops. They also organized artistic performances to entertain locals.
These activities were to mark the 70th Vietnam Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs’ Day, enrich youths’ knowledge of history and culture, and raise their responsibility for the community.
