PANO – The Vietnamese mathematics team ranked first as it bagged seven gold, two silver, and three bronze medals at the International Mathematics & Science Olympiad (IMSO) 2016 for students under 13 (11 and 12 years old), held in Indonesia from November 9-13.

In the science tests, among contestants from 23 countries and territories, the Vietnamese science team landed on the fifth place, bringing home 10 silver and two bronze medals. Altogether, the Vietnamese teams earned 24 medals.

At IMSO, students sit the tests written in English. As for mathematics, students compete in a multiple choice, written, and discovery tests. Science contestants, meanwhile, take three tests in physics, biology, and chemistry.

IMSO provides a playground for primary students to learn more from experience and develop their mathematics and science competence.
