According to Director Nguyen Van Tho, from a tax collection and anti-smuggling force at its inception, Vietnam Customs has now become a modern state management agency, deeply integrating internationally, and playing an important role in economic growth.

Addressing the event, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang acknowledged the Vietnam Customs’ constant development and asked the customs sector to speed up the building and perfecting customs laws, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of customs law implementation, promptly complete the building of digital customs and smart customs on the basis of science and technology application and innovation, helping facilitate customs procedures anytime and anywhere.

At the event, on behalf of the State President, Minister Nguyen Van Thang presented the First-class Feat-of-Arms Order to the Department of Customs. On behalf of the Prime Minister, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi handed over certificates of merit to 10 outstanding individuals.
