PANO – Coast guard ship BP 18-98-01 under Border Fleet 2 of Soc Trang Border Guard successfully saved two troubled ships and fishermen on September 8.

Previously, Border Fleet 2 received information from To Thi Thu, born in 1952, Tran De district, Soc Trang province, that her two ships, TS 96789, captained by Tran Van Ngoc and with three crewmembers on board, and ST 95599, captained by Le Van Kiet with 13 crewmembers on board, went adrift in bad weather due to broken propellers and rudders.

Upon receiving the mayday signal, the Soc Trang Border Guard immediately sent the coast guard ship to rescue the troubled trawlers and fishermen.

At 8.30pm, the ship approached the trawlers, successfully picked up all the crewmen and then safely took them ashore.

At present, the unit is handing over the two ships to To Thi Thu for repair.
