PANO - Hundreds of thousands of people have come to Vung Chua (Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province) to pay homage to General Vo Nguyen Giap on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of South Liberation and National Reunification (April 30th 1975-2015).

Fire blazing up from incense at the General's tomb

According to Senior Lieutenant Khac Ngoc Tan Hao, Head of the Guard Team at the General’s tomb, more than 100,000 visitors across the country have offered incense to the late General on this occasion, the highest number ever recorded. On April 30th alone, around 40,000 people came to the tomb. The officer also said that the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command and other relevant agencies have increased the guard force.

Thousands of veterans paying homage to the General

Colonel Nguyen Van Phuc, Chief of Quang Binh provincial Border Guard, estimated that the number of visitors to the site will continue to increase in the coming days and promised that the province's border guard would try its best to fulfill the mission of guarding at the General’s tomb and serve visitors.
