PANO - The Ho Chi Minh Municipal Youth Union Committee held a ceremony on January 1st to honour the city’s young citizens and mark 10 years since the city for the first time organized this event.

The event was attended by former Vice President Truong My Hoa, newly-elected Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and Chairman of the Vietnamese Students’ Association Le Quoc Phong.
Accordingly, the jury selected six outstanding youths among 64 nominees from various branches and sectors across the city.
Addressing the ceremony, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong praised the selected young citizens for their contributions to the city's development, and held that the event is meaningful to celebrate the upcoming 12th National Party Congress and the 85th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee.
He also urged agencies and sectors across the city to multiply these good examples and assist youths in their study and work, contributing to building a modern and civilized city.
