PANO - A scientific seminar, themed “Bringing into play the strength of the national great unity and democratic socialism in the national renewal process and international integration”, was held on November 9th in Hanoi by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC), the Central Commission for Information and Education, the Ho Chi Minh National Politics Academy and the People’s Newspaper.

In his opening speech, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President and Secretary General of VFFCC Vu Trong Kim affirmed that over the past 85 years, together with the development of Vietnam’s revolution, the Vietnam National United Front has built up a glorious revolutionary tradition in close attachment with the glorious history of the nation and the Communist Party of Vietnam. Since the national reunification, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) has inherited the glorious revolutionary tradition of previous front organizations and has drawn from past lessons to consolidate and renovate its operation form, making great contributions to the great achievements of the Vietnam’s revolution. As a result, the role and position of VFF has been promoted and secured in the current political system and social life.

Kim also emphasized the importance of organizing such a seminar to learn from the drawn lessons and roll out recommendations to further strengthen the national great unity bloc as well as bring into play VFF’s role in the new situation.

The seminar, as Kim said, contributed to educating the young generation of the history, patriotic and revolutionary tradition of the nation, the glorious tradition of VFF, the power of the national great unity bloc and the innovation of VFF in different periods. It also provided information and scientific documents for further studies and popularization on the building of the national great unity bloc and VFF.

At the seminar, speeches delivered by delegates focused on Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, the Party’s guidelines on the national great unity, the building of the national united front in different periods of Vietnam’s revolution and the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies on promoting VFF’s role and position.

Delegates also analyzed the Vietnam National United Front’s establishment, development, position, role and active contributions to Vietnam’s revolutionary cause over the past 85 years. They also made suggestions on improving VFF’s role and position in the new situation.

The seminar is part of practical activities in celebration of VFF’s 85th traditional anniversary (November 18th, 1930-2015).
