“I encourage and warmly welcome Indian entrepreneurs and investors to come to Vietnam to develop trade and investment. The Government, localities, ministries and sectors of Vietnam will create every favorable condition for you to do business successfully in Vietnam”, said PM Nguyen Tan Dung.
On July 6, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung had important meetings with Indian leaders and attended a Vietnam-India business forum held in the ITC Maurya Sheraton Hotel, drawing the participation of more than 400 entrepreneurs from the two countries.
Mr Dung delivered a strong message to Indian investors, saying that Vietnam is an attractive, safe, efficient and sustainable destination for foreign investors.
At the forum, a series of contracts and agreements on investment cooperation in mining, information and technology, education and training between Vietnam and India worth hundreds of millions of US dollars were signed.
Most notable among them was an investment cooperation agreement to build power plants in Vietnam between the Irrigation, Agriculture, Electrical Engineering Corporation (Vietnam) and Athena Project Group (India) valued at US$300 million.
In the evening (Vietnam time), Mr Dung will hold talks with his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh on measures to further strengthen the traditional ties of friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and India as well as regional and international issues of common concern.
