NA reviews implementation results of food safety policies
National Assembly deputies on June 5 discussed a report detailing supervision results of the implementation of law and policy on food safety in the 2011-2016 period.
The session heard opinions of 47 deputies, mostly focusing on the issuance of law and policy on food safety, the current situation of food safety in the 2011-2016 period, communications in the work, and the public investment in the management of food.
They discussed the allocation of responsibility in State management over food safety, personnel for the work, the inspection and settlement of violations in the field, and measures to control food poisoning and food-transferred diseases.
The deputies also mentioned solutions and role of agencies, organizations and individuals in implementing law and policies on food safety.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong, and Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien attended the session to clarify some issues raised by the deputies.
As scheduled, on June 6, the NA deputies will give ideas on a verification report on the revised Law on Fisheries, while debating reports related to the approval of a supplementary treaty to the Vietnam-Laos Border Delimitation Treaty and of a protocol on border line and landmark between the two countries.
They will also hear a verification report on the revised Law on Forest Protection and Development, and give opinions on the law on guard force.
