NA Chairwoman attends reunification celebration in Can Tho
National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended a ceremony to mark the 42nd anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day, International Labor Day and the 127th birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh in the Mekong delta city of Can Tho on April 28.

Addressing the function, Vo Thanh Thong, Chairman of the municipal Can Tho People’s Committee, recalled the undaunted spirit of Can Tho’s residents and their contributions to the country’s victory on April 30, 1975 that led to the national reunification.
In the current national building, Can Tho city aims for a GDP growth rate of 7.25 percent a year, and shifts its economic structure towards higher trade and service, industrial and high-tech agriculture proportions, Thong stressed.
The city will work harder to display its motivating role in the Southwest’s socio-economic development, and ensure political stability and security in the Mekong delta region and the whole country, the official noted.
Earlier, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and municipal officials offered incense at the city’s war martyrs cemetery.
