PANO - Ho Chi Minh City will launch its first electric bus service in June, announced the city’s Department of Transport.

During the trial period, the ten 12-seat buses will operate routes through downtown tourist destinations, running from the September 23 Park to the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden with 29 stops along the way on Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Hue, Hai Ba Trung and Le Duan Streets.

They will operate daily from 8am to 6pm, with departures every 10 minutes. Tickets will cost from VND 6,000, while an entire vehicle can be rented for VND 100,000 per hour.
