The Department of Telecommunications, under the Ministry of Information and Communications, on March 30th opened a national online information gateway to launch a program “sending messages to support fresh water for Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago”.

The information gateway, which lasts from April 1st to May 31st, will allow people to send messages to the phone number 1405, with each SMS costing VND10,000.

All money collected via this information gateway will be used to buy water purification devices for people in Truong Sa Archipelago and help needy local people overcome the aftermaths of natural catastrophes and fires or help patients with deadly diseases.
