PANO - The Fire and Rescue Police Department of Hanoi City held a festival on fire prevention and fighting activities at the square in front of the My Dinh National Stadium on October 1.

The event is part of activities in celebration of the 55th founding anniversary of the Fire Prevention and Fighting force (October 4, 1961).

Over 1,400 firefighters of 46 teams from fire and rescue units in the city competed in categories such as operating tools and vehicles to fight fire and conduct rescue missions, undertaking fire-fighting mission (for watchmen), overcoming obstacles and extinguishing fire (for firefighting forces at grassroots levels), and the like.

Addressing the event, Major General Hoang Quoc Dinh, Director of the municipal Department of Fire and Rescue Police stressed that the event aims to evaluate abilities and capabilities of the city's fire and rescue police force, especially in operating new equipment, as well as promote experience  exchange and solidarity among participating teams, contributing to fulfilling their missions in the time to come.

At the end of the festival, the organizing panel handed over the best team award to the Fire and Rescue Unit No.12 while presenting five first, five second and three consolation awards to  outstanding individuals and groups.
