Major General Dang Sy Loc went over the history of Vietnam to conclude that Vietnamese history is deeply imbued with the ardent aspiration to be free, independent, unified, prosperous, and on par with other powers in the world. The aspiration for a prosperous Vietnam always burns in the hearts of all generations of the Vietnamese people, enabling them to overcome all hardships to obtain happiness and glory, shown clearly in the two resistance wars against foreign invaders in the 20th century.
After 35 years of renewal, under the leadership of the Party, Vietnam has made remarkable achievements in the process of international integration, striving to develop Vietnam into a country of prosperity and happiness in the new era. The resolution of the 13th National Party Congress outlines the three specific goals to turn Vietnam into a low middle-income developing country in its modernization path with a gradually-modernized industrial sector by 2025, a high middle-income developing country with a basically-modern industrial sector by 2030, and a high-income developed country by 2045.
The article of the Party chief affirms that those goals can only be achieved when Vietnam keeps embarking on the path to socialism with the unanimity of the whole Party and people. The core of the Vietnamese aspiration is the aspiration for a prosperous and happy nation. Therefore, it is necessary to arouse patriotism, national self-reliance, and the spirit of great unity in each and every Vietnamese. Everyone must contribute to national development, closely safeguard national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and fight individualism, corruption, wastefulness, “self-transformation,” and “self evolution.”
Through the article of Prof., Dr. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Loc strongly believes that with strong aspiration for development and the high determination of the whole Party and people, Vietnam will make more achievements in the process of building Vietnam into a prosperous, powerful and happy nation.
Reading the article by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Dr. Nguyen Cong Dung, Permanent Deputy Editor-in-chief of the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper, said that the article is a vivid analysis and assessment in the current global context. With his own analysis and assessment, the Party chief has reaffirmed the confidence in the path to the future chosen by the Party, Uncle Ho and people of Vietnam.
The permanent deputy editor-in-chief stressed that he is deeply interested in the Party General’s analysis of the dark side of capitalism in the article. The top Party leader was quoted as pointing out the fact that “a very small proportion of the population in the capitalist world owns the majority of wealth and means of production, controls up to three-quarters of financial resources, and dominates the whole society.” This is the root of evils.
