Visiting the area many times in prunus cerasoides season, Photographer Dao Van Vinh from Hanoi said that each time the breath-taking view of the purple-pink blossoms brings him different emotions and lure him there to hunt for the most satisfactory photos. According to him, this has been the most beautiful blooming season since prunus cerasoides trees started blooming in 2017, so he can easily take beautiful photos from any angles.

Prunus cerasoides blossoms are more beautiful on sunny days. Rows of prunus cerasoides blossoms are in full bloom, creating a fairy-tale-like scene. A bird-eye view is perfect to catch the panoramic view of purple-pink prunus cerasoides blossoms blending with the green background of the tea hills.

This year, the mixture of sunshine, cold air, humidity, and wind speed is ideal for prunus cerasoides to produce the most beautiful and brightest flowers.

The flower has five petals like apricot blossoms. At first, it has light purple-pink color which changes over time into a darker one.

By the end of the season, the trees will turn orange-yellow like the color in the leaf-changing season when seen from a distance.

The times around sunrise and sunset are the best for taking photos. However, from 7.00a.m. to 7.30a.m., hills are covered in mist, and it gets dark after 5p.m. Tourists should follow the change of the weather to choose the most suitable time for photos.

At present, O Quy Ho ward, in collaboration with a business, is offering free entrance to tourists to the area.

According to Chairman of O Quy Ho ward Nguyen Hoang Phuong, offering free entrance to tourists to take photos of prunus cerasoides blossoms is part of the Winter Festival of Sa Pa town which runs from December 20, 2023 to January 2, 2024.

Prunus cerasoides flowers in Sa Pa are in full bloom and will fade in the next few weeks. Tourists are flocking to the area to admire the scene. Most of them choose to take taxi from Sa Pa town with a round-trip fare of VND 400,000 to admire the morning scenery, while others stay in nearby homestays with the cost of VND 150,000 per person per night.
