The meeting was part of a series of activities to give legal advice and encourage workers to return to Vietnam when their contracts expire, in line with regulations so as to enhance labor management and assist them during their stay in the RoK.

Talking to the Vietnam News Agency, Jin Jong-sang, Director of the Changwon center for supporting foreign workers, said his center is providing assistance for all foreign workers in different aspects.

He held that as most Vietnamese work industriously and sincerely, they have won local employers’ trust. However, illegal labor is still a problem needing to be addressed.

Up to now, Vietnam has sent over 110,000 workers to the RoK under the EPS program, with average monthly income of USD 1,800. About 30,000 are working under the EPS among the 40,000 Vietnamese workers in the RoK at present, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
