PANO - The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA) under the Foreign Ministry, and the Ministry of Education and Training on August 8 opened a Vietnamese language-training course for overseas Vietnamese teachers in Hanoi.

The course, lasting until August 21, attracted 55 trainees, the largest number of participants in a training course of this kind, from 13 countries and territories worldwide.

According to the organizing panel, the course is designed professionally and specifically for those who teach Vietnamese for Vietnamese overseas in foreign countries. It is lectured by leading and prestigious Vietnamese lecturers on linguistics and pedagogy.

During the course, the trainees will take part in several fact-finding tours, attend some classes and visit different places across Vietnam to broaden their knowledge of national history and culture.

The same day, the organizing panel held a seminar, themed “Facts of teaching and studying Vietnamese language for Vietnamese overseas and solutions”, for the trainees.

Reportedly, more than four millions of Vietnamese people live in over 100 countries and territories across the world.
