The Vietnam Students Association in Paris (UEVP) held its congress for the 2011-2012 term on November 26, attracting many Vietnamese students in Paris and adjacent areas.

In the past term, UEVP organized many activities such as a workshop on studying abroad, vocational seminars for students, and cultural, arts and sports programs. It also took part in the L’Humanite press festival, the 2011 Paris fair, and many charitable programs to help Vietnamese compatriots, and those with disabilities facing difficult circumstances in Vietnam.

The congress elected a new executive committee comprising 28 members, including many women. The new president of UEVP is Mai Xuan Thuy.

Addressing the congress, First Secretary of the Vietnamese embassy in France, Ta Quoc Tuan, expressed his hope that UEVP will boost the movement of study and scientific research among Vietnamese students in France, making them an exemplary community in the European country.

The former president of UEVP, Nguyen Duc Khuong, believed that the organization will introduce many new initiatives to connect its activities with those of the Vietnam Association of Science and Experts in France (AVSE).
