“This is the fifth time Hmsky has presented Vietnamese beer at the festival”, said a Hmsky representative.
Apart from presenting Vietnamese beer, Hmsky has used the festival to promote the people and culture of Vietnam among Europeans.
Vietnamese traditional songs and music performances during the festival drew the notice of many Europeans. Despite the rain, the crowds gathered in front of the stage to enjoy these special performances. In response to continuous applause, the dancers and singers gave encores.
In addition, Germans and foreigners alike raised scores of questions related to Vietnamese people and their culture so that they could better understand Vietnam.
The festival is also a place for overseas Vietnamese from different generations to meet and chat with each other. Mr. Manh, an overseas Vietnamese living 50km from Berlin, confided that his whole family went to the beer festival yearly although they were busy with work.
It is estimated that hundreds of overseas Vietnamese families throughout Germany went to this year’s festival.
