The Vietnamese Foreign Ministry and the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese have honoured 19 overseas Vietnamese in Japan for their contributions to the development of community in Japan and to national defence and construction in the homeland.
A ceremony was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan on June 30 to award those people, all most all of whom are professors at universities in the northeastern country.
Vietnamese Ambassador Chu Tuan Cap expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community in Japan will continue to make more contributions to the homeland and help promote cooperation and friendship between the two nations.
For his part, Dr Huynh Tri Chanh, President of the Vietnamese Association in Japan, affirmed that overseas Vietnamese in Japan would take more active actions to support the homeland's growth and the development of Viet Nam-Japan relations.
