PANO - A diary and a belt of a Vietnamese soldier, who sacrificed in the Vietnam War, were handed over to the Vietnam Military History Museum at a ceremony on June 25th in Hanoi.
On his recent visit to Vietnam in May 2015, US Secretary of Defence Ashton Carter presented the items to Vietnamese Minister of National Defence General Phung Quang Thanh.
They were collected and preserved by an American war veteran, who was in South Vietnam during the war.
At the ceremony, the museum also received several exhibits including the belongings of war martyr Vu Dinh Doan and ten special items depicting the 1975 Spring Great Victory and late General Vo Nguyen Giap, which were collected by Tran Ngoc Quyen, former Deputy Director of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany.
