Guests at the program affirmed that from the April 30 triumph to the nation’s construction and development efforts, the epic of heroism continues to resonate, becoming a strong driving force propelling Vietnam through countless challenges to emerge as an integrated and powerful nation like it is today.
Julio Cesar Pineda, a veteran diplomat and renowned journalist of Venezuela, stressed that although 50 years have passed, the Vietnamese revolutionary heroism remains undimmed. From former battlefields to factories, fields, and global integration efforts, this spirit continues to inspire and strengthen the will and aspirations of every generation of the Vietnamese people.
Recalling the tremendous sacrifice made by the Vietnamese soldiers and people during the prolonged struggle for independence, he affirmed that beyond bringing peace to the Vietnamese people, the April 30 victory is a milestone for the whole world to bear in mind the lessons about the power of justice, the will for independence, and revolutionary heroism. They are the immortal values that have shaped the identity of an indomitable and humane Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My said following the victory, Vietnam entered a period of reconstruction amidst numerous challenges. However, during the tough time, the revolutionary heroism continued to be manifested through the spirit of self-reliance, industriousness, and creativity of the entire nation.
According to My, the soldiers of peacetime are farmers who overcome natural disasters to produce food, workers at factories or construction sites, scientists working silently at laboratories, and the business community innovating their mindset to bring Vietnamese products to the world, among others. Besides, the Vietnamese revolutionary heroism is also present in the areas of sovereignty protection, international integration, and development of an advanced culture deeply imbued with the national identity.
He affirmed that Vietnam is holding various development opportunities, adding the spirit of the April 30 victory – a symbol of unyieldingness, and solidarity – will continue to be the guiding principle for the country to deliver on its target of becoming a developed and high-income country by 2045.
Amidst major upheavals, strategic geopolitical - trade competition, climate change, and digital transformation across the globe, Vietnam needs to further promote its revolutionary heroism to confidently overcome challenges and assert its position in the international arena, the ambassador added.
