Sixty years ago, Bien Hoa Artillery Mission was assigned to shell Bien Hoa Airport. At 11:30p.m. on October 31, 1964, the unit’s troops fired 130 artillery and mortar rounds, hitting the targets precisely. This strike destroyed 59 aircraft, killed and wounded 293 enemy soldiers, and exploded two ammunition depots, one fuel depot, one observation post, and 18 barracks.

The Bien Hoa Airport Victory inflicted heavy losses on the enemy, inspiring the troops and people across the country, as well as peace-loving people worldwide.

Upholding the tradition of the unit, generations of the officers and soldiers of Artillery Brigade 75 have strived to achieve new victories.

In recognition of their achievements, the Party and the State awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the unit in 2010.
