Search and Collection Team K73 recovers 11 sets of martyrs’ remains in Cambodia
PANO - On December 1, Colonel Tran Hung Cuong, Political Commissar of Search and Collection Team K73 under the Military Command of Tay Ninh province, said that during its mission performance in Cambodia, the unit had recovered 11 sets of remains in Chill hamlet, Traeng commune, Rotanak Mondol district, Battambang province.
According to Col. Cuong, for nearly a month staying in Battambang province, Team K73 underwent extremely difficult conditions. The complex mountainous terrain, dense vegetation, unpredictable weather developments, and traces of war faded by time caused numerous obstacles to the search effort. However, with strong determination and a high sense of responsibility, the team members persisted step by step, following every remaining clue to accomplish the assigned mission.

During the mission implementation, the unit received dedicated support from local authorities, armed forces, and people in Cambodia. Many elderly witnesses provided valuable information, from former battlefield locations to burial sites of Vietnamese soldiers. Based on these clues, Team K73 conducted surveys, identified areas, and carried out searches in a scientific and cautious manner.
Each recovered set of remains is a testament to the tireless efforts of Team K73’s members. Up to now, the 11 sets of martyrs’ remains have been transported and preserved at the unit’s garrisoned area with solemnity, following all required procedures for preservation and documentation.
The journey to bring the martyrs back to their homeland is still being carried out diligently by Team K73 with wholehearted dedication and a sacred sense of responsibility, contributing to preserving and honoring the noble tradition of gratitude of the Vietnamese people.
