These sets of remains of martyrs have been searched and gathered by the Steering Committee 24 in collaboration with troops of Search and Collection Team K72 under the Binh Phuoc provincial Military Command in Phu Lac hamlet, Thanh Phu commune, Binh Long town since March 16.
Reportedly, informed by locals, on March 16, 2023, the joint forces started carrying out their search in the hamlet and found 13 sets of martyrs’ remains and their belongings, such as rubber sandals, wallets, watches, pens, bones, and teeth.
On the following days, forces expanded the work and more sets of remains were found.
So far, none of the remains have been identified yet.
According to the information from local residents, the collected remains could belong to troops who sacrificed their lives in 1972 and were buried there by their comrades.
Previously, nine sets were collected in the hamlet in 1981.
At the handover ceremony, Steering Committee 24 encouraged local people to continue providing information to help find more remains of fallen soldiers.
