Held under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the program aimed to honor fallen soldiers before their remains, recovered at Le Thi Rieng Park, and would soon be transferred for reburial at Ho Chi Minh City War Cemetery. The event was broadcast live on Ho Chi Minh City Television Channel.

Through music, poetry, theater, and painting, the program honored generations of Vietnamese people who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for national independence and freedom, while highlighting today's generation's gratitude and responsibility toward those who fell for the Fatherland.

A highlight was the talk with Tran Van Ban, an 82-year-old doctor and war veteran who has volunteered daily to assist teams collecting biological samples from fallen soldiers' remains at the park. Artists also shared reflections on wartime losses, the value of independence and freedom, and the peaceful life enjoyed today. Their messages encouraged younger generations to cherish history and uphold revolutionary traditions through practical contribution to national development and defense.

Reportedly, all participating artists volunteered their time for rehearsals and performed without remuneration. The program helped promote the tradition of gratitude to previous generations and encouraged the armed forces and the public to join the 500-day campaign to intensify the search, recovery, and identification of fallen soldiers' remains.
