Dak Nong to host seminar highlighting Ho Chi Minh Trail in mid-May
PANO – A State-level seminar themed “Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail: A symbol of inspiration for national unification” will be held at the Dak Nong provincial Conventional Center in the province on May 14.
This information was announced at a press conference in Hanoi on May 8 by the Defense Ministry, the Party Central Committee's Commission for Education and Information, and the Dak Nong provincial Party Committee.
The seminar is part of activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and the Foundation Day of Truong Son Army Corps which falls on May 19.
The event aims to spotlight the sound leadership and directions of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh on opening the strategic road to transport human and logistic supplies from the rear in the North to the front line in the South.
The seminar also aims to honor contribution of and pay homage to the Vietnamese people and military, particularly troops of Truong Son Army Corps, in the resistance war against US invaders for the liberation of the South and national reunification.
In addition, the seminar is expected to encourage the public and troops to make greater contribution to the national construction and defense cause.
The seminar will vividly reflect historical battles along the Ho Chi Minh Trail and help apply valuable lessons and experience to the current cause of building and safeguarding the Fatherland.
Besides, memoirs presented at the seminar will also clarify the special alliance in combat among Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia as well as the wholehearted assistance from peace loving countries worldwide, especially the former Soviet Union, China, Cuba and other socialist nations.
