A special mission of the Government, led by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, inspected COVID-19 prevention and control in Tay Ninh province.
Concluding the event, General Luong requested the province to inspect the chains-of-command and review methods of implementing pandemic prevention and control work so as to better assign tasks to each position.
In addition, the province should encourage and promote information dissemination to the local people to raise their awareness of the disease. On this occasion, the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense presented 2,000 boxes of instant noodles and two tons of dry food to support COVID-19-hit people.

* On the same day, in Dong Tien commune, Dong Phu district (Binh Phuoc province), Depot K882 (Department of Military Weapons and Equipment) handed over a ton of rice and 100 boxes of instant noodles to representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Tien commune, Dong Phu district to support them in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The meaningful activities contributed to helping them quickly control the disease.
Gia Dinh Regiment under Ho Chi Minh City's Military Command on August 16 launched a Zero-VND stall in Trung My Tay Ward, District 12 (Ho Chi Minh City).
During the event, the unit presented 600 gifts, including food, vegetables, and necessities, to laborers and needy people in the area.
* Military Region 9 (MR9) also signed a cooperation agreement with the An Giang provincial People’s Committee on supporting local people to harvest, transport and sell agricultural and aquatic products in the area.
MR9 will send troops and vehicles to assist local people in Tinh Bien district, An Giang province in harvesting rice.
* A delegation of the Air Force Officer Candidate School, led by its Deputy Political Commissar Senior Colonel Vu Hong Trung, visited Phuoc Hoa Ward and Phuoc Long Ward’s People Committees in Nha Trang city to inquire after and offer gifts to COVID-19 hit households in the locality.
On this occasion, the school, in coordination with local authorities, handed over 100 gifts, worth VND 300,000 each, to the local needy residents.
