The Military Commands of Tay Ho and Thanh Xuan districts under the Hanoi Capital Command organized the “Zero dong” stall program to provide needy local people, beneficiaries, troops’ families whose members work at quarantine facilities with food and other basic necessities, including vegetables, eggs, instant noodles, and rice.

This meaningful program partly helps ease difficulties facing local people amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, promote the virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and tighten the military-civilian ties.

In the coming time, other affiliates of the Hanoi Capital Command will launch similar programs to give support to needy people.

* On August 14 and 15, the Military School under Military Region 9 and Can Tho city’s Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion jointly held a blood donation drive, attracting more than 2,000 troops and employees of the school.

The drive aimed to ease the blood shortage for treatment at local hospitals.

* All on-duty workers, people in lock-down areas, representatives of families in green-zone areas and other forces in COVID-19 prevention and control work in Da Nang city will receive Realtime RT-PCR COVID-19 testing on August 16-18 and August 19-21. The move aims at strengthening the city’s COVID-19 fight.

* On August 15, a mission from the Fatherland Front Committee and Military Command of Nghe An province visited, presented gifts to, and encouraged on-duty troops and medical personnel at the quarantine facility established in Army and Muong Thanh hotels in Cua Lo town for their strict implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

* Binh Thuan provincial Youth Union Organization organized and put into operation voluntary teams to fight COVID-19 in the localities with the participation of thousands of youths. As planned, they will support COVID-19 checkpoints, carry out sanitation and serve at kitchens at quarantine facilities, transport necessaries to people in lock-down and quarantine areas and present gifts to other needy people.

On the occasion, the provincial youth union chapters presented 1,700 shields, 10,000 face masks, 1 ton of fish, 50 liters of disinfectant, and 2,000 notebooks, among others to COVID-19 front-line forces, poor students in lock-down and quarantine areas.

* Sun Group handed over VND 47 billion of aid to Da Nang city People’s Committee to supply foodstuff and vegetables for needy people in the city and 100,000 COVID-19 test kits to combat the pandemic.

* A field hospital with 500 beds will be put into operation on August 17 in Van Tuong village, Binh Hai commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province to give treatment to COVID-19 patients.

* As of August 15, Field Hospital for Infectious Diseases No.4 under the General Department of Logistics has cured more than 300 COVID-19 patients in Khanh Hoa province.

At the working session with the hospital, representatives of Military Hospital 87 highly valued the hospital staff’s treatment efforts and map out missions as the field hospital will double its capacity from 500 to 1,000 beds to receive more COVID-19 patients amid the complicated developments of the pandemic.
