Whole country cares for national contributors
PANO - On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), the Vietnam Coast Guard Command held a ceremony to offer incense and flowers to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap and war martyrs at the unit’s place of worship on July 25.

In a solemn atmosphere, Maj. Gen. Le Quang Dao and officers and soldiers expressed deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and fallen soldiers who sacrificed themselves for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
On the same day, Major General Bui Quoc Oai, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard hosted a meeting with veterans and relatives of martyrs from the command’s agencies. The political commissar hoped that they would continue to uphold good qualities and revolutionary traditions of their families and overcome difficulties to accomplish all assigned missions.
* A memorial and burial service was held for six sets of martyrs’ remains in Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province on July 25. At the event, delegates, local authorities, troops and people offered incense and flowers in tribute to war martyrs who laid down their lives for national independence and freedom and people’s happiness.
* Brigade 125, Naval Region 2 conducted gratitude activities for martyrs, policy beneficiaries and national contributors who made great contribution to the cause of national liberation, construction and development.

The unit worked with local authorities to visit and present gifts to the families of Heroes of People’s Army Forces Ho Duc Thang (Tra Vinh province) and Huynh Van Sao (Ben Tre province); heroic Vietnamese mother Muoi Rieu and family of martyr Phan Dang Khoa in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province; and two needy policy beneficiaries in Cat Lai ward, Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh City, to name but a few.
* The liaison board of Division 5 in Ho Chi Minh City and Martyr Families Support Association in the city co-held a meeting with seriously wounded soldiers. On the occasion, the organizing board granted gifts to 113 seriously wounded soldiers in the locality.
