Troubled fishermen flown ashore for emergency aid
PANO - A helicopter of the Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company under the Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (Army Corp 18) with three troubled fishermen on board landed at the helipad of Military Hospital 175 at 07:02 a.m. on September 6 for emergency treatment.

Reportedly, upon receiving the order from the higher level, the company developed flying, fueling, landing, and coordinating plans. It assigned helicopter Superpuma L2 with tail number VN-8614 and a flight crew including pilots Lt. Col. Do Hoang Hai and Lt. Col. Cao Van Cong, technician non-commissioned Lt. Col. Nguyen Huu Tuan, to conduct the mission.
At 07:10 p.m. on September 5, the helicopter took off at Vung Tau Airport for Tan Son Nhat Airport to pick up the medevac crew of Military Hospital 175 and then flew to Sinh Ton Island.
At around 00:45 a.m. on September 6, the helicopter landed on the island, picked up the fishermen and flown back to the mainland for treatment.
The three fishermen, Nguyen Thanh Son, Dang Bien and Dao Van Phon, got occupational accidents when they were working on trawler BTh 97887TS and were given first aid at Sinh Ton Island Infirmary.

Although conducting the medevac flight at night and landing in many places, the flight crew overcame difficulties, closely worked with the medical crew to handle all situations, flying the patients ashore in a timely manner and ensuring absolute safety, successfully completing their duties.
