Over the past two days, some communes in Dakrong border district (Quang Tri province) had heavy rains and flooding. Facing the situation, a task force from Border Guard Technical School 24 rushed to the scenes, together with local authorities, to assist locals in preventing and overcoming flood consequences.

Evacuating local people to a safer place |
Especially, they have actively and quickly moved 400 households to safer places and repaired damaged roads to ensure traffic flows while conducting search and rescue (SAR) missions.
In addition, the unit’s troops also mobilized social organizations and individuals to donate 10 tons of rice, 1,200 boxes of instant noodle, three tons of salt and other necessities to local people in the two communes of A Ngo and A Bung (Dakrong district).
The noble deed of the unit has left deep impression on the locals, contributing to promoting the beautiful images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
* On October 17, a delegation of Factory Z176 under the General Department of Defense Industry, led by its Deputy Director Senior Colonel Do Tat Thanh, handed over necessities and equipment to troops and flood-hit victims in areas of Military Region 4 (MR4). Major General Nguyen Anh Tuan, MR4 Deputy Commander, received the relief aid.

Over the past days, heavy rains in the region have caused flooding and severe human and property losses. Especially, a big landslide at Forest Ranger Station 67 in Phong Xuan commune, Phong Dien district, Thua Thien - Hue province killed 13 SAR military officers and local officials. In addition, on October 18, another landslide in Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province, where Defense-Economic Unit 337 under Military Region 4 is stationed, also buried 22 officers and soldiers.
To share difficulties with MR4’s armed forces, Factory Z176 supported 45 TH-76 speed boats, 300 life jackets, 21 tents, 6,000 raincoats, among others, totally worth VND 1.2 billion, made by the factory.
For their part, General Tuan thanked the factory for the meaningful assistance and said MR4 would send the gifts soon to units and localities for natural disaster relief.
