Troops promptly conduct relief activities in natural disaster-hit localities
PANO - On June 15, many agencies and units in the military maintained duty regulations, continued to mobilize personnel and vehicles to assist natural disaster-affected people in the North and Central Vietnam.
Brigade 149 under the Engineering Corps is now reoperating two 60-ton PMP pontoon bridges in Phong Chau bridge area in Phu Tho Province to ensure local traffic from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
On June 15, in Hue city, there remained one landslide site. Over 300 officers and soldiers from the local armed forces and Division 968 under Military Region 4 actively participated in the efforts to help local people overcome the consequences of the recent flooding.
Regarding the rescue efforts at sea, on June 14 afternoon, the Infirmary of Thuyen Chai D Island of the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago in Khanh Hoa province handed over a patient, who was hospitalized at the infirmary on June 11 and diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome, to the Viet Thuan 05-01 Ship of Dacinco Company to bring him ashore for further treatment.

Meanwhile, Storm Wutip, the first storm to hit Vietnam in 2025, caused heavy rain and flooding in many places in the Central provinces. From June 13 to 15, Cua Viet Border Post under the Quang Tri provincial Border Guard Command mobilized all officers and soldiers to promptly assist people in Village 5, Gio Hai commune, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province in harvesting rice and farm produce, helping minimize damage caused by rain and floods.
Accordingly, troops from Cua Viet Border Post harvested 5.5 tons of rice, 1.37 tons of peanuts and potatoes. The timely assistance from officers and soldiers of Cua Viet Border Post was highly appreciated by local Party Committee, authorities and people.
